Scots singer songwriter swaps caravan parks for debut EP release

An in demand Scots singer songwriter is about to drop his debut EP - after waving goodbye to his former job as an entertainments manager.

Vinnie McKee has put the finishing touches to ‘My Turn’, which is being released on Friday, November 11, and contains four brand new songs - all penned by the talented artist.

And in the days before his EP’s big release, Vinnie, who quit his job as entertainments manager at Sundrum Castle Holiday Park, in Coylton, will be in sun-kissed Lanzarote to help promote the release of My Turn.

Speaking before his trip to Lanzarote, Vinnie said: “All the tracks on the EP are original songs I have written. I speak Spanish fluently, so I am going to be releasing two separate versions.

“I am flying out to Lanzarote until November 9 to promote its release and I’m super excited to say that I will have more upcoming festival gigs and performances for 2023.”

Vinnie left his role at Sundrum Castle in January to pursue his musical dreams and has been steadily growing his fanbase.

He said: “Since leaving Sundrum Castle, I’ve performed at multiple Pride festivals, I’ve written four brand new songs which will feature on my EP and I flew over to Benidorm for a relaxing getaway to finish the writing of my EP.

“I now have a team of back-up dancers who’ve joined me on the road and I am flying out to Lanzarote for a week of promo performances in the lead-up to the EP release.”

The title of Vinnie’s new EP is a nod to his determination, drive and passion to have his voice heard in today’s society, as he explained: “My EP is called ‘My Turn’ which is fitting because I feel like it’s my turn to speak my mind, my turn to tell my story and my turn to shake up the music industry.”

Not to rest on his laurels, Vinnie, 27, is also planning another big release at Christmas.

He revealed: “I have already started work on my Christmas release, which will be a collaboration with an upcoming singer from London, named Leah.”

There are also plans for Vinnie to headline the Helensburgh Winter Festival this year.

My Turn will be available on all major streaming platforms from Friday, November 11, as well as CD and vinyl limited-signed copies.

Back in September last year, Ayrshire Live told how Vinnie rubbed shoulders with British rap star Tinchy Stryder - after being hand-picked to play a 20-minute set at the Northumberland Pride Festival.

Vinnie said he was in dreamland after his performance in front of nearly 10,000 fans at People’s Park, Ashington, where Stryder was the headline act.
