Scots presenter Grado vanishes for 40 minutes during live radio in hilarious Costa mix-up

It's not hard to relate to the struggles of waking up early and having to head out whether it's to work, drop the kids off or to run some errands.

The first thing many of us do is grab a coffee - and that's exactly what one radio presenter tried to do, but it ended up going hilariously wrong for so many reasons.

Grado, who presents GO Radio's Breakfast Show, had ordered a Costa for delivery to help kick start his morning. However, the driver got lost whilst making his way to the studio leaving no choice but for the presenter to dash off and help locate the much-needed caffeine fix.

Leaving to meet the driver at what he thought was at the door, Grado went down to greet the Uber Eats driver but soon realise he was nowhere to be found. So to solve the issue, Grado jumped in his car without alerting anyone, breaking one of the biggest rules in radio, and that's not to leave a studio when broadcasting live

This hilarious moment was caught on camera after Grado vanished halfway through the live radio show on Tuesday morning leaving co-host Crofty and his other colleagues baffled as to where he had gone, as reported by the Daily Record.

A video posted on the radio station's Twitter page which shows the drama unfolding. Grado can be heard on the phone saying: "I'm in Lidl," to which Crofty replies: "What do you mean you're in Lidl? We're doing a radio show."

Grado informed him: "I'm trying to find the Uber Eats driver, he's not got maps working on his phone, so I phoned him and he said he's at Lidl. But the problem is I've got myself stuck in a wee bit of traffic."

The studio then erupts into a fit of laughter and Crofty said: "See when I said go meet the guy... I meant at the carpark, not to jump in your car and drive to Lidl."

Grado left the building at 8:31am and returned around 40 minutes later, with Crofty looking less than impressed. But fear not, they did get their much needed Costa caffeine.
