Scots nursery raid leaves kids without vital kit as cops hunt thieves

Police are hunting sick thieves who raided a nursery supporting children and kids of key workers.

Vital electronic equipment was nicked from Little Crickets Nursery in Uddingston, South Lanarkshire at some point between January 28 and February 1.

The facility, also known as Castle Gate Nursery, is in the Old Squash Court Building in the town's Castle Avenue.

Devastated staff say the gadgets are used to help educate tots who attend.

Officers from Lanarkshire Police Division are now appealing for information and urging any witnesses to come forward.

A spokesperson from the force said: "We need your help.

"We’re appealing for witnesses, or information, regarding a housebreaking at Little Crickets Nursery, Uddingston.

"This happened between January 28 and February 1.

"A number of electronic devices and equipment were stolen.

"Equipment which is used to educate the young people who attend that nursery.

"Please, if you have any information contact 101 quoting “incident number 0848 of 01/02/21”.

"You can remain anonymous if you’d prefer, contacting Crimestoppers using their online form or calling 0800 555111."
