Two Scots NHS nurses were left devastated after their cars were scraped with keys outside a hospital.
The vehicles were both targeted in a 'disgusting' attack at the Inverclyde Royal Hospital car park in Greenock.
One of the nurses, who didn't want to be named, told the Record that they both work in critical care at IRH and were being fitted for new masks to treat covid-19 patients, when the thug pounced on Easter Monday.
The callous attack happened when both NHS workers were on their days off.
One of the victims, a charge nurse, told the Record: "We both work in critical care at IRH and went on days off to get fit tested for new masks.
"We came back to our cars being damaged."
Shocking images of the keyed cars were shared on social media under the post: "Parked at hospital to go and get fitted for new masks so we can work with covid patients and someone lovingly keyed my car.
"My colleague's car was done as well."
The images sparked fury among locals who branded the culprit an 'animal' whilst hailing the health workers for their 'amazing' efforts in the fight against coronavirus.
One wrote: "Scum of the earth.
"This has made me feel sick, low life."
Another added: "What kind of animal does this?
"Sorry that happened to your car."
A third commented: "As if your not dealing with enough.
"So sorry for you both, absolutely disgusting."
Another posted: "You are actually joking?
"What you two are doing as nurses is amazing, and to be rewarded like that?
"Disgusting."
