Scots dad who ballooned to 20 stone after eating crisps and biscuits loses six stone

A Scots dad who ballooned to almost 20st after eating family bags of crisps and biscuits for dinner during lockdown has lost six stone in the space of a year.

Jordan Law was shocked after weighing himself at a gym last Christmas and coming in at 19st 9lbs - a stone over the maximum weight on his own home scales.

The 28-year-old from Gilmerton, Edinburgh would eat takeaways weekly and gorge on crisps and biscuits for dinner, leaving him feeling sluggish.

After realising how weight had crept on, dad -of-one Jordan decided to take matters into his own hands and completely changed his diet and lifestyle this year.

Now, Jordan preps healthy meals a week in advance and goes to the gym for over two and a half hours each day.

The former five-a-side pitch manager now weighs 13st 5lbs and has secured a new job as manager at his gym following the amazing transformation.

Jordan said: "Having my wee boy through that first lockdown, I put on a lot of weight, more so than ever.

"It was a massive shock, lockdown was incredibly difficult for everyone.

"After my son was born I realised I needed to make a drastic change or continue in the same direction and die in 10/15 years time.

"I weighed myself at the gym one day and realised I had exceeded the weight limit for my home scales as I weighed a stone heavier at the gym.

"My diet was woeful, I genuinely would eat family bags of biscuits and crisps for my dinner and would feel sluggish all the time.

"Now I am having really good quality meals, that I'm prepping a week in advance.

"I was going to the gym before, but maybe for 50 minutes, whereas now I'm training for around two to two and half hours.

"I would never have gotten my current job at the gym if I was the same size.

"In the near future I want to compete in something call power-lifting."

Jordan has hailed his training and change of diet for a positive change for his increased mental health and strong relationship he has with his son.

He said: "Being able to fit into clothes I've always wanted to wear e.g. Gymshark was a massive psychological boost that fat guys always strive towards.

"Mentally I feel the best I ever have done and have so much more energy to play with Jonah.

"The best part of losing weight throughout all of this and still keeping me fit is the walking with him.

"Walking him in his pram for hours, and now every other day on his trike, is the highlight of my week.

"I have an amazing relationship with my son which I'm so grateful for."

Jordan created a video showing his progress from when he was hunched over and eating a takeaway in December last year to now showcasing his new muscled physique.

The Scotsman shared his progress video on TikTok last week, writing: "That's my 2021 wrapped."

The video has been viewed over 1.6 million times and attracted over 151,000 likes.

More than 4,000 social media users have commented on the post after being amazed with Jordan's progress.
