Cops have launched a probe into an early morning 'attempted murder' after a Scots home was deliberately set on fire.
The blaze started at around 3.10am at the house in Renfrew's Western Park Gate.
Nobody was seriously injured in the inferno which police say was started deliberately.
Officers are now treating the 'targeted attack' as attempted murder and have called for any witnesses
Detective Inspector Neil Martin from Paisley CID said: “This was a targeted attack that has been frightening for the occupiers of the house, luckily nobody was seriously injured.
“We are appealing to anyone who has any information on this incident or any CCTV images to contact us via 101 quoting reference number 0738 of 23 May 21."
The attack is the latest in a series of terrifying blazes in the west of Scotland.
Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell's Lanarkshire home was targeted earlier in the week, leaving the roof of his garage burned out.
Some five terrifying firebomb attacks on upmarket homes and luxury cars within three days in the Glasgow area.
As well as Lawwell and nightclub tycoon James Mortimer, two other luxury addresses were targeted.
