Scots actress Karen Gillan 'busted' listening to bagpipes on Guardians of the Galaxy set

Scottish actress Karen Gillan was caught blasting out some truly patriotic music during filming for Guardians of the Galaxy Volume Three.

The 35-year-old, originally from Inverness, could have been left red-faced too as she was discovered listening to some bagpipes in between shooting scenes, if it wasn't for all the fabulous efforts from the hair and makeup team who transformed her into the blue anti-hero character Nebula for the smash hit Marvel film.

The Doctor Who star - who joined the Marvel Universe in 2013 - has appeared in a string of movies as Nebula including Infinity War and Avengers Endgame.

As her co-star Pom Klementieff, who plays Mantis, crept up to her tent during filming, she left Karen in stitches when she realised she'd been rumbled getting a wee taste of home while she enjoyed some downtime on set.

"Karen?," quipped her French actress co-star as she sneaked into the tent to a seemingly chilled-out Karen who was quite literally, away on another planet.

"Listening to Scottish music," laughed Pom as Karen burst into laughter, before taking it in her stride as she punched the air along to the beat of the pipes as the pair of them ended up buckled over at the situation.

The Mantis actress flipped the camera around to herself as she sported her own pair of special effects horns, as the two of them laughed before she scurried out of the tent.

And fans of the show were delighted with the behind-the-scenes footage, as they rushed to the video which was posted on Karen's Instagram page to share their thoughts.

"It's as the saying goes, you can take the girl out of Scotland but you can never take the Scotland out of the girl," wrote one follower as they pointed out how "hilarious" Pom's laugh was.

Someone else quipped: "Nebula would see this music as a good battle cry," whilst someone else added: "This is the behind-the-scenes stuff we love. So interesting to see Nebula with human eyes. She cute."

One joker penned: "As a scot I can say that she isn't actually in makeup we're just just actually blue in reality that's why she was cast."
