ScotRail hit back at cheeky traveller who planned to ‘cheat’ ticket system as Twitter asks ‘Want some sudocrem for that burn?’

ScotRail have hit back at a cheeky traveller who planned to ‘cheat’ the ticket system just months after asking the rail operator about a job.

The Twitter exchange has racked up several likes and hilarious responses after user Greg Hamilton stated that he planned to travel with the wrong ticket.

It came as the travel giant announced they would be reintroducing ticket checks on board their services across Scotland as lockdown travel restrictions ease.

On Sunday morning, Greg tweeted: “Customers are warning ScotRail that as this is the last day of staff being unable to check tickets on trains due to COVID, I’m off half way across the country for the price of a one stop child single and there’s s*** all you can do about it.”

But the eagle-eyed rail operator swiftly replied: “Hey Greg, I can see you messaged us a few months back asking about getting a job at ScotRail.

“This probably isn’t the wisest thing to tweet if that’s still your ambition… ^Angus.”

Greg replied: “Don’t worry, it’s not.”

Twitter users have hailed ScotRail for their epic response.

One wrote: “Want some sudocrem for your burn there laddie?”

Another said: “I live for this stuff. Bye Felicia.”

A third added: “Boom shots fired.”

A fourth posted: “Omg you just got owned.”

And a fifth wrote: “Wouldn’t want somebody like Greg working alongside me, or in my business if I owned a business.

“Seems like a dishonest fraudulent individual. Greg needs to realise that fare evasion on public transport can constitute a criminal offence. Love ScotRail Angus’ reply.”
