Scotland v Israel fan decision confirmed with fresh update on ticket refunds and memberships

Scotland supporters who had purchased tickets for the Israel play-off match will be refunded.

The official Scotland National Team social media account confirmed this afternoon that a "capacity crowd" will be unable to attend the match on October 8.

Fresh COVID-19 lockdown measures set out by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon on Tuesday mean fans won't be able to return to sporting events next month as hoped.

As a result it is likely the Scotland v Israel clash will be played behind closed doors.

Scotland National Team tweeted: "We can today confirm that, sadly, a capacity crowd will not be able to attend our play-off match against Israel next month. It’s a huge blow for the team, but they are determined to do you proud and make it to the final. The ticket refund process will take place automatically."

Fans are being given the option to donate their ticket refund to the 'Give for Grassroots' fund which is organised to support young people getting into the game. You can find out more about this here.

It was also confirmed that all memberships will be extended so they run to the end of 2022.

The Scotland v Israel play-off match will take place on October 8 with the winner progressing to a one off final against either Norway or Serbia with a place at the Euros at stake.
