Scotland team to face England revealed as Gregor Townsend makes one change for Calcutta Cup

Scotland boss Gregor Townsend has made one change from the side which lost to Ireland ahead of Saturday’s Calcutta Cup clash against England.

The Dark Blues head coach has brought in Edinburgh back-rower Magnus Bradbury at the expense of club-mate Nick Haining as he looks to replicate the display which saw Scotland come close to winning in Dublin or the first time in ten years.

Bradbury has recovered from a thigh strain as Haining moves to the bench where Edinburgh tighthead Simon Berghan is included after having to pull out last weekend on the day of the game due to illness and Adam Hastings continues at fly-half with Finn Russell's continued absence from the squad.

Townsend is convinced there’s no need to tinker greatly with a line-up which he believes will be good enough to beat the Auld Enemy.

He said: “We were proud of parts of our performance in Dublin at a very difficult venue. The challenge for the squad is to replicate that level and take our chances when they come, in order to win tight games.

"We were disappointed not to beat Ireland but the opportunity to face England, against whom we are bidding to retain the Calcutta Cup, is one that excites players, coaches and supporters alike.”

Scotland: Hogg (capt); Maitland, Jones, Johnson, Kinghorn; Hastings, Price; Sutherland, Brown, Fagerson, Cummings, Gray, Ritchie, Watson, Bradbury.

Replacements: McInally, Dell, Berghan, Toolis, Haining, Horne, Hutchinson, Harris.
