Scotland's first 'personal branding' agency launches for executives

A former Bauer Media sales director has launched what he claims to be the first personal branding-focussed agency in Scotland.

Inspired by research showing that people trust a company more when the senior management team have a prominent presence on social media, Alleyoop’s team of content creators and pay-per-click specialists is aiming to help build brands this way.

Based in the Clockwise offices between Edinburgh and Glasgow, the firm has begun working with clients across the UK, as well as currently seeking new work in Miami and Dubai.

Founder Jak Carlin said: "I believe that personal branding is the future of business development, sales, marketing and growth and, in 2022, people want to engage with people, not companies.

“The fame of business founders and entrepreneurs like Social Chain’s Steven Bartlett, Gymshark’s Ben Francis and Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sports, shows how personalities’ fame can outperform their brands’ fame by using social media platforms that give glimpses into their business lives.”

By building on his contacts at Bauer, Global and Radio Forth, Carlin has signed up seven clients to manage their personal brand or pay-per-click strategy, with the aim of expanding this to 15 by the end of this year.

"At that point, we'd plan to start building out team of full-time content creators, personal brand managers and a PPC manager," he added.
