Scot Tom Stoltman scoops World's Strongest Man crown for second year in a row

Scottish strongman Tom Stoltman has been crowned the World’s Strongest Man for a second year in a row.

The 28-year-old from Invergordon took home the international prize once again after defeating Ukraine’s Oleskii Novikov in the final two events in Sacramento, California.

Tom made history last year when he became the first ever Scot to win the prestigious title.

His win yesterday means that he is now the 10th competitor to win the World’s Strongest Man competition twice.

Tom’s brother Luke, whose nickname is The Highland Oak, finished seventh in the competition.

And Tom paid tribute to his sibling and the team around him when he spoke to the organisers after his historic win.

He said: “I mean this is the competition I get most hyped for and most motivated for, and my training proves that.

“I don’t really like putting stuff up on social media, but coming here and mixing it with the big guys, I did that today.

“Big shoutout to Luke who pushes me all the way, my wife, my nutritionist, Dan the coach - what a team I’ve got.

“To do it in front of these guys is unbelievable.”

Tom has been prolific in his career, with two wins each in both the Scottish and British versions of the strongest man competitions.

And he announced his determination to add a third world title to his trophy cabinet.

He added: “I’m hungry for that - six titles now.

“Yeah who knows what the world is going to open up to me now, so let’s see what happens.”
