Sciennes Primary in Edinburgh have notified families of a confirmed Covid case at the school

There has been a confirmed case of Covid at Sciennes Primary School in Edinburgh, near the Meadows.

According to a letter sent to parents, children who have been in direct contact with the confirmed coronavirus case have been contacted and will be staying at home for 14 days.

The school will open as normal on Tuesday 27 October and and any children not affected should continue to attend school if they remain well.

The school have said that all household members of the child must also stay at home and self isolate. Household members should not go to work or school, no one should leave the house to go to shops, public areas or use public transport.

A message was sent to parents that read:

"Dear Families

"There has been a confirmed pupil case of COVID-19 within the school.

"Those children and staff who have been in direct contact with the confirmed case have been contacted and will be staying at home for 14 days.

Calling all mums, dads and carers - join our friendly Edinburgh Parents group for all the latest family and kids news.

"The school will open as normal on Tuesday 27 October and if your child has not been contacted then they should continue to attend school if they remain well.

"Andrew."
