Schuster extends NRL deal at Sea Eagles

Josh Schuster has pledged his NRL future with Manly until 2024. (AAP)

Manly have locked in young playmaker Josh Schuster until the end of 2024 as they lay out their long-term halves plans.

Schuster on Thursday confirmed he'd inked a two-year extension, after making his mark playing as a second-rower this season.

It comes just six months after rumblings Schuster could leave the club, with Kieran Foran's arrival taking away what appeared to be his spot in the halves.

But the 20-year-old has since shot down that speculation and is still seen as the Sea Eagles' long-term answer at five-eighth's and one of the game's future stars.

"I started at this club at 14 years old and to get the opportunity to play NRL six years later means the world to me," Schuster said.

"Coming through the Sea Eagles academy, they take it very seriously and are very strict on being a good football player but a good person off the field."

"That's important to me."
