Schools in England WILL open on March 8 the government confirmed this morning.
And confirming the news Vaccines Minister Nadhim Zahawi said two people would also be able to meet up outdoors from this date.
Speaking on BBC Breakfast the minister also confirmed that from March 29 the rules will be eased further to allow two families or people following the rule of six to meet up outdoors and some outdoor sports such as tennis and golf will also be permitted from March 29.
He said: "Two people will be able to meet outdoors for a coffee or socially. On March 29 it will be two families or the rule of six meeting outdoors and outdoor sports."
"Two people on the 8th of March and schools - to be clear that is the plan. The Prime Minister will set more details out in Parliament this afternoon."
Boris Johnson is set to lay out his roadmap out of lockdown today in the House of Commons.
The Prime Minister will reveal how he plans to get the nation out of lockdown restrictions and back to normal life after almost a year of coronavirus restrictions.
Mr Johnson will speak in Parliament at 3.30pm and will then address the nation in a special press conference at 7pm.

The government have been clear that they are keen to see schools return as their number one priority.
More than 17.5m have been vaccinated with the PM pledging yesterday to get every adult in the UK vaccinated by the end of July.
With all this in mind these are the dates we could expect to see things return, with something resembling "normal life" expected in the next few months.
