School jobs up for grabs in North Tyneside right now - from teaching assistants to caretakers

A number of schools across North Tyneside are hiring new staff.

Jobs on offer include teaching assistants, lunchtime supervisors, admin workers, caretakers, cleaners and other support staff.

The roles are being advertised in areas including Wallsend, North Shields, Whitley Bay and Killingworth.

The advert says: "We are looking to appoint a hard working individual who will be work alongside the head teacher and operations and strategic development manager to take day to day responsibility for health and safety and security in our school. Lunchtime play supervisor - Hadrian Park Primary School, Wallsend

The school says: "The lunchtime play supervisor will work as part of a team who will be responsible for securing the safety, personal development and welfare of the children and good conduct of pupils during the midday break period.

"Duties will include supervision of the pupils in the dining hall, promoting healthy eating and well-being, and may include ancillary associated duties (for example cleaning up spillages, ensuring tables are clean etc) to ensure the maintenance of good order and discipline."

Cleaner in charge - Appletree Gardens First School, Whitley Bay

The advert states: "We require someone to clean and maintain a section of our school to a high standard and complete the daily lock up of the premises. You will need to ensure the security of premises and contents including the operation of fire and intruder alarms and key holder responsibilities.

"This post is fixed term until 31st August 2022, 12.5 hours per week, 3.30pm – 6.00pm Monday to Friday, term time only over 190 days."

Reprographics technician - Whitley Bay High School

According to the advert, the school is "seeking to appoint a part time reprographics technician to produce a wide variety of reprographic materials including printing, cutting, finishing and photocopying. In addition, the postholder will provide associated reprographic services including collating, paper-folding, guillotining, stapling, booklet-making and laminating.

"There will be an opportunity to work with a wide variety of people within school, including assisting with the production of whole school displays. The role also involves problem-solving and overseeing servicing and maintenance of the reprographics machinery via an external service contract and ordering consumables for use by the department."

Teaching assistant - New York Primary School, North Shields

The schools says: "We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive thinking, motivated teaching assistant to support quality teaching and learning to accelerate pupil progress and raise standards across KS2.

"The post requires knowledge of how pupils learn and how interventions can support further success. Good ICT skills are desirable.

"You will be required to work 37 hours per week, term time only (plus some additional days) over 195 days. This post is fixed term up to August 2022."

Family liaison officer - John Spence Community High, North Shields

The advert says: "The family liaison officer will be an essential member of the school pastoral team and will play a key part in developing positive relationships with some of our hardest to reach families to support the development of the young people in our community.

The advert says the successful candidate should have experience of specialist ICT packages and have the "ability to interpret advice or statutory guidance and to devise policy and practices that ensure compliance with relevant codes of practice and legislation, especially those to do with safeguarding, health, safety and security, finance, confidentiality and data protection."

Teaching assistant - Rockcliffe First School, Whitley Bay
