School closes to all year groups after Covid outbreak

A primary school in Stockport has been forced to close to all year groups after a Covid outbreak.

Pupils at St Elisabeth's CE Primary School in Reddish are all back home and remote learning once again after 'several positive cases'.

Unlike most areas in Greater Manchester, Stockport along with Tameside are the only ones to register a fall in infection rates, latest figures show.

It's towns like Bolton, which has the highest rate in the country, which have been the biggest cause for concern.

Pupils at St Elisabeth's had been due to breakup for half term this Friday, so many will undoubtedly spend the holidays having to isolate.

A Stockport Council spokesperson said: "St Elisabeth’s Primary School in Reddish is currently closed due to several positive cases of Covid-19.

“Home learning provision is in place for all children while the school is closed.

“The school will be contacting parents directly on arrangements for reopening, which we hope will be after the half-term holidays.”
