'Scab Rats' graffiti scrawled on Liverpool FC's Champions Wall at Anfield

Graffiti was scrawled across Liverpool FC's Champions Wall outside Anfield on Tuesday night.

The offensive lettering appeared outside the Reds' home ground just one day before they face off against Everton in the Merseyside Derby.

'Tory scabrats' was scrawled on the wall in blue spray paint over the faces 12,000 Liverpool fans.

Blue spray paint was also used to write 'EFC 1878' underneath the metal Liverpool crest on another wall surrounding the stadium.

People took to social media to express their shock and disgust at the graffiti.

Mighty Red Pins on Twitter said: "Just seen the Champions wall mural outside Anfield has been vandalised!

"Absolute scumbags whoever has done it! Especially when people have paid to have pictures of their memories and loved ones on it, including myself!"

Everton fan Harry Colquhoun said: "What's going on? Writing over the Liverpool murals outside Anfield. They haven't got two brain cells to put together.

"Why can't they just leave things alone. 64 years I have been watching Everton and nothing ever used to happen like this, scumbags,"

The ECHO approached both Liverpool FC and Everton FC for comment on the incident.
