Savage Love Island twist sees two new bombshells Ellie and Spencer arrive in time for recoupling

Love Island 2023 has aired its most dramatic episode yet. The start of the show saw Anna-May Robey and Haris Namani exit the villa after a brutal double dumping before bosses announced there would be a recoupling, with the boys getting to pick this time around.

However, as the girls lined up around the fire pit, Olivia Hawkins received a text that read: "Boys before you decide which girl to be coupled up with there are two very big decisions to be made. Please welcome Ellie and Spencer to the villa."

Ellie Spence and Spencer Wilks then made their debut. Ellie, a business development executive at a law firm from Norwich, said of joining Love Island: "I've been single for three years and the roster is pretty dry, it’s been dry for the last year, I don’t know what happened, it’s just not been a great time for me so I’m ready to find my husband."

Meanwhile, Spencer, an e-commerce business owner from Bournemouth said: "It’s a great experience and I’ll be out of my comfort zone, maybe I’ll find someone that I could be with forever and to share that experience with someone I think is quite unique. This is the only time I’ve been single, so it’s now or never really."

As the late arrivals entered the villa and joined the others at the fire pit, a text read: "Ellie and Spencer, before the boys make any decisions you will decide who you want to couple up with first."

The results of the recoupling will be aired on Thursday, Janaury 26 after the episode ended on a cliffhanger. Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
