Saudi Prosecution Calls for Executing Yemeni ISIS Militant for Killing Security Man

The Specialized Criminal Court in Riyadh. Asharq Al-Awsat

The Specialized Criminal Court in Riyadh is considering the case of a Yemeni national, who deliberately killed a security man by running over him then stabbing him to death. The man on trial has also adopted ISIS methodology.

The Prosecutor General presented Monday his lawsuit, which included a list of the crimes committed by the accused, including the killing of a security man, deliberately and aggressively.

The list also included the affiliation of the accused to ISIS and his support to the terrorist organization’s activities, pledging allegiance to its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, adoption of its Takfiri approach.

Among the other charges was storing and sending whatever would harm the public order through the computer and communication network, by storing pictures and clips that support the terrorist organization, following up on the social media and YouTube all what ISIS releases from conflict zones and sending them to his cousin, joining groups that support ISIS.

The prosecutor's list showed that the Yemeni accused tried to go to Yemen to join ISIS and participate in the war there, incited his cousin (detained by the competent authorities) to adopt ISIS methodology.

The Public Prosecutor's Office requested that he be convicted in accordance with the law and sentenced to death.

He was sentenced to a maximum sentence set in the anti-informatics system, and his mobile phone and electronic devices were confiscated.
