Saudi Initiative Offers to Host Special Needs Hajj Pilgrims from Lebanon

Saudi Arabia offers to host special needs pilgrims from Lebanon to perform the Hajj. (SPA)

Saudi Charge d’Affaires in Lebanon Walid al-Bukhari launched from Beirut on Monday an initiative aimed at offering people with special needs the chance to perform the annual Hajj pilgrimage for 2018, reported the Saudi Press Agency.

He revealed that the Kingdom dedicated 33 special seats for cancer patients from Lebanon seeking to perform the Hajj.

Several relatives of Lebanese soldiers and security forces members, who were martyred while defending Lebanon’s security and sovereignty, were also included in the Saudi initiative.

Bukhari said: “This initiative reflects the real role that Saudi Arabia seeks to play in servicing man, developing his abilities and raising his hopes.”

“It also reveals the positive and real side of the Saudi diplomacy’s humanitarian and social work,” he stressed.

The initiative will not be limited to the Hajj, but include health and medical programs.
