The Saudi General Directorate of Civil Defense announced Wednesday that it has rescued 271 people throughout the Kingdom from flooding caused by heavy rain, reported the Saudi Press Agency.
The largest rescue operation took place in Tabuk where 10 people were killed in the floods. One person was killed in Madinah and another in the Northern Borders Region.
A total of 137 people were evacuated in Tabuk.
Committees have been formed to assess the damage in the Kingdom.
The Civil Defense urged the people to exercise caution and avoid flood-hit and flood-prone areas.
The heavy rains have flooded desert valleys and forced schools to close.
