Saudi Aramco has stressed that its plants and facilities in the southwestern province of Jizan were operating "normally and safely."

Aramco’s statement on Thursday came two days after the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen announced that a Saudi oil tanker came under attack by the Iran-backed Houthi militias.

Coalition Spokesman Turki al-Maliki said that the attack took place west of the Hodeidah port, which is under Houthi control.

The targeted tanker was slightly damaged, but able to continue along its course, escorted by a coalition vessel, he added.
