Saudi Arabia, Kuwait Sign Deal to Establish Joint Coordination Council

Saudi Arabia and Kuwait sign a deal to establish a joint coordination council. (SPA)

Saudi Arabia and Kuwait signed on Wednesday a deal to establish a joint coordination council, reported the Saudi Press Agency.

The agreement was signed in Kuwait between Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir and Kuwaiti Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah.

Jubeir had arrived traveled to Kuwait on Tuesday.

Earlier on Wednesday, he held talks with Emir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The minister conveyed during the meeting the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense.

They then discussed bilateral ties and the latest regional and international developments.

The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait Prince Sultan bin Saad bin Khalid, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political and Economic Affairs Ambassador Dr. Adel bin Siraj Mirdad and Director General of the office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Khaled bin Musaed Al-Angari.

The Saudi cabinet had on Tuesday approved the formation of the Saudi-Kuwaiti coordination council.

Coordination councils established between the Kingdom and a number of Gulf, Arab and world countries set an example to follow in terms of joint cooperation and development of trade relations.
