Sauchiehall Street – Police probe late-night assault outside city centre pub

Police want to speak to a man in connection with a late-night assault outside a city centre pub in March.

The victim was rushed to hospital after he was attacked outside the bar on Sauchiehall Street at around 2:50am on Monday March 4.

The force released a CCTV image of a man who officers believe may be able to assist them with their enquiries.

He is described as Asian, 20-25 years of age, approximately 5 ft 9 tall, slim build and black hair, shaved at the sides and with a ponytail at the rear. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark coloured jacket, with dark trousers and dark coloured trainers with white flashing.

Detective Constable Paul Houston from Stewart Street Police Office said: “This incident occurred when Sauchiehall Street was busy with revellers. I am appealing to anyone who has witnessed this incident or who recognises the man in the image to come forward.”

Anyone who recognises the man in the images, or who has information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Stewart Street Police Office through 101. Alternatively CRIMESTOPPERS can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.
