The football season gets back under way in England with the Carabao Cup as Colchester meet Southampton.
In cricket, it is getting to the business end of The Hundred competition with a double header of fixtures starting on Saturday morning.
There is plenty of other sporting action with horse racing live from Ascot, Haydock and Newmarket and a triple header of Super League action, while there is tennis at the Canadian Open.
Carabao Cup kick-starts football season
The football season got under way on Thursday night and Carabao Cup action continues with Southampton’s visit to Colchester in the first round live on Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Main Event from 5.00pm. Manager Tonda Eckert will take to the dugout for the first time since the ‘spygate’ scandal erupted at the end of last term, which saw the Saints kicked out of the Championship play-off final.
The Hundred heats up
The final week of The Hundred is upon us and the race for the Finals is on with MI London taking on Trent Rockets. Coverage of the women’s match starts on Sky Sports Cricket at 10.45am with the men’s match starting at 2.00pm, a contest that sees the top two in the competition come face to face. Southern Brave and Manchester Super Giants are also in action with the women’s match under way on Sky Sports Mix at 2.30pm followed by coverage of the men’s match on Sky Sports Cricket from 5.30pm.
Grand Final race is on
We are into the final quarter of the season in the Betfred Super League and teams are fighting for a place in the play-offs. There is a triple header of action live on Sky Sports Plus beginning with Catalans Dragons‘ trip to Huddersfield at 2.00pm before Wigan continue their pursuit of the League Leaders Shield with the visit of Toulouse at 5.30pm. The action concludes with Bradford’s clash with Warrington at 6.30pm.

Flat racing action comes from Ascot, Haydock and Newmarket live on ITV from 1.10pm, and there is plenty of golf on with the The PIF London Championship on Sky Sports Golf from 1.00pm while the The Wyndham Championship continues on the same channel from 5.00pm. Preparation for the US Open continues with the Canadian Open in Montreal on Sky Sports Tennis from 5.30pm and Sky Sports Main Event from midnight, with the likes of Coco Gauff, Joao Fonseca and Casper Ruud all in action, while stage eight of the Tour de France Women is on TNT Sports 1 from 2.30pm.
