
Sattaya Supupramai and Udorn Duangdecha shared the halfway lead at the Singha Thailand Masters 2019 in Chiang Rai yesterday.
Seeking his maiden win on the All Thailand Golf Tour, Sattaya fired a five-under-par 67 in the second round with five birdies while Udorn made a 68 with five birdies and one bogey at Santiburi Country Club.
The duo were on eight-under 136, one shot ahead of six players -- Panuphol Pittayarat (69), Prom Meesawat (67), Prayad Marksaeng (68), Poom Saksansin (70), Piya Swangarunporn (70) and Pavit Tangkamolprasert (63).
Prayad, 52, who had seven birdies and three bogeys, is bidding for his seventh win here and 20th ATGT victory in total.
Sattaya said he was happy with his performance.
"Making five birdies without dropping a shot is really a solid round for me because the course is quite tough," Sattaya said.
"The greens are quite firm and I was able to put the ball at the right place."
Overnight co-leader Sadom Kaewkanjana dropped to joint ninth place on six-under with Sarit Suwannarut (65) and Dongkyu Jang (67).
World No.127 John Catlin, the highest-ranked player in the field, improved with a 69 to stay tied for 12th with Chaiphat Koonmark (66) and Natipong Srithong (69).
Title-holder Phachara Khongwatmai (69), Atiruj Winaicharoenchai (66), Kosuke Hamamoto (73) and former champion Thaworn Wiratchant (72) were on two-under.
Danthai Boonma, who shared the first-round lead with Sadom, soared to 74 to stay joint 22nd.
The winner will receive 750,000 baht and is expected to get seven world ranking points.
