A soda machine has quickly become one of the most coveted kitchen gadgets. As someone who has gotten on board recently, I can confirm: it's a game-changer to have at home.
However, with so many options on the market, it can be daunting to find the perfect model. Allow Sarah McLachlan to suggest a pick, as she recently revealed that the best soda machine (in her opinion) is a SodaStream Art soda maker.
On buying a SodaStream, She told the Strategist, 'I love kombucha. Other people think it’s disgusting, but I can’t get enough. My favorite is the Lychee and Jasmine from Rise, a Canadian brand that you can’t get in the U.S. It’s sort of my go-to instead of having alcohol — have a glass of kombucha. And I often dilute it with soda water, which means I can drink more of it. I usually make my own in the SodaStream because I find that a lot of canned or bottled seltzers are too carbonated. I like to drink it mildly carbonated, and with the SodaStream, I can control that.'
This is our Kitchen editor Lydia Hayman's favorite at home soda maker, and the most attractive. The retro lever looks and feels more premium than the standard button, and makes it easy to carbonate water exactly to your tastes.
While she didn't specify the exact iteration she prefers, our Kitchen editor, Lydia Hayman, swears by the SodaStream Art as her overall favorite.
'If you don't mind spending more money and know you'll use your soda maker every day, this is where I would recommend you spend,' she wrote in her kitchen appliance review. 'The Art looks premium, it feels premium, it is premium. I wouldn't keep the other models on the countertop, but I could see this sneaking its way onto display.'
We're all for a kitchen appliance trend that doubles as decor. If you're looking for a budget-friendly option, there's also the Gaia model, which functions just as well but is slightly chunkier.
With that being said, below, we have rounded up some soda machines for every price point. Happy shopping!

The simplest and most budget-friendly SodaStream is around $70. It is bulky but reliable.
It's the product I've been trying to gatekeep, but the discount is too good not to share. If you want the same slim, sleek soda maker that stars use, you can't go wrong here.
This rival from Smeg is beautiful to use and to look at. A simple twist creates a customised drink, from delicate sparkling water to ultra-fizzy mixers. It is pricey, but a design-forward way to elevate the everyday.
