Sarah Ferguson's coy response to Meghan and Harry's explosive Netflix series

Sarah Ferguson has weighed in on the Meghan Markle and Prince Harry drama engulfing the Royal Family.

The Duchess of York, who was once married to disgraced royal Prince Andrew, said Meghan has made Harry very happy in a new interview, as she refused to be drawn on the couple's explosive Netflix series.

Fergie admitted she doesn't know the Duchess of Sussex well as they only met briefly, but she is sure that Meghan "really loves" Harry which she described as "beautiful".

The 63-year-old, known by her nickname Fergie, said Harry is "so happy" with Meghan and his mother Diana would be "proud of him and her lovely grandchildren", Archie and Lilibet.

She added that she spoke to Meghan at the Queen's funeral and thought the Duchess looked "absolutely beautiful".

Asked if she watched Harry and Meghan's bombshell Netflix documentary series, Sarah told the Telegraph: "I’m just trying to think… Right. So, I think I’m a devourer of information on Netflix and I love watching everything on Netflix."

The series, followed by Harry's memoir Spare, sent shockwaves through the monarchy with the couple now evicted from their UK home, Frogmore Cottage.

Asked if Meghan has damaged the Royal Family, Fergie said: "It is absolutely not my place to answer that. She has made Harry very happy, and that is so nice. Honestly, he's so happy with her. She really loves him.

The Duchess of York, who was married to Prince Andrew for 10 years before the couple announced their "amicable split" in 1992, said she can't speak for Prince Harry but said she felt "free" when she moved to America after her divorce.

Fergie, who spent 12 years in America writing books, said she understands Harry's decision to move to the US with his family after he and Meghan stepped down as senior royals.

Sarah, who said she is now "in talks" for a TV series involving her books, also pledged loyalty to her ex-husband saying they have "an amazing mutual understanding of one another".

She said Andrew, who has stepped down from public life amid the Virginia Giuffre scandal, was "always very good with his mum" and is now a good grandfather too.

Sarah added that she "loved every minute" of being a princess and said being the late Queen's daughter-in-law was a "great honour" for her.

She also described King Charles as "a very special person" who "upholds everything that is good" - including promoting art, nature and raising awareness of climate change.

Fergie's comments come after it was reported that King Charles is drawing up a "range of options" to placate his brother Prince Andrew after insisting he must leave his grace-and-favour Royal Lodge mansion.

The monarch will tempt the Duke of York with houses across the royal portfolio after it emerged one option presented to him includes Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Frogmore Cottage home on the same Windsor estate.

His Majesty has taken the extraordinary step to ask the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to vacate their UK base for good, following the publication of Harry's explosive memoir Spare.
