Sandeep Patil requests MCA to allow online voting

MUMBAI: In his bid to garner the vote of his former India captain Sunil Gavaskar in the elections of the Mumbai Cricket Association on October 20, India's 1983 World Cup hero Sandeep Patil, who is contesting for the president's post from the Sharad Pawar group, is going all out.

Patil will request the MCA's election officer JS Saharia if the likes of Gavaskar, Sanjay Manjrekar and Ajit Agarkar, who are likely to be in Australia to commentate during the T20 World Cup can vote online in the polls.

Patil and his group members filed their nominations on Saturday. "We're going to request the MCA's election officer if they can be allowed to vote online. Yesterday, we requested MCA CEO CS Naik to see if this was possible. I mean, you can't miss a vote from someone like Gavaskar. Regardless of whom he chooses to vote for, it's a very important vote," Patil told TOI on Sunday.
