A siege in Salford lasted more than seven hours while police negotiated with a man inside a house.
Neighbours were unable to return to their homes after emergency services cordoned off Westminster Street in Swinton.
Police were called to 'concern for welfare of a man' at a property at around 2pm today.
Negotiations between the man and police officers lasted more than seven hours.
Residents from properties either side of the house were asked to leave and seek alternative accommodation until the cordon is lifted.
Armed police officers, firefighters and ambulance were sent to the cordon.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed the incident had 'concluded' when contacted by the M.E.N at 8.50pm.

A GMP statement, released earlier this afternoon, said: "At around 2pm today (Monday 23 November 2020), police were called to a report of concern for welfare of a man on Westminster Street in Swinton.
"Emergency services attended and the street has been cordoned off as a precaution."
Officers on the street are negotiating with the man, who is understood to be by himself.
A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service said: "We have an ambulance, rapid response vehicle, and members of our HART team attending,
"We were called at 13:54."
