
The sale of an historic Speers Point residence has raised the suburb's stocks.
Anthony Di Nardo, of Belle Property Lake Macquarie, marketed 374 The Esplanade with a guide of $3.3 million and sold the prestigious property, known as The Knoll, for an undisclosed sum during the week.
The Newcastle Herald understands the admired property was secured by out-of-town buyers for a price that not only surpassed the previous suburb high of $2.9 million for Speers Point but was also above the $3.5 million residential sale record for neighbouring Warners Bay.
Built in 1917, The Knoll comprised a grand four-bedroom residence surrounded by landscaped gardens on 3097 square metres of land with stunning lake views.
Divine result
An admired Victorian residence in Mayfield that had been lovingly restored to its former glory got plenty of people talking before its $1.35 million sale prior to auction.
Mathew Iuliano, of First National Newcastle City, marketed the historic 1880s property at 62A Church Street with a guide of $1.25 million to $1.35 million. It is believed to have been built as the rectory for St Andrew's Anglican Church.
Lifestyle listing
Belle Property Lake Macquarie's Sam Taylor has been inundated by local and out-of-town interest for what he described as a rare offering in Glendale.
He is marketing a three-bedroom home on just over two acres of land at 46 Reservoir Road and said lifestyle properties such as this were "extremely sought after but rarely found".
It is open Saturday at 11.15am and set for auction on August 14. A guide has not been offered.

Beachfront site
Robinson Property's Ben Robinson is marketing a three-bedroom home on a level block 613 square metres in size at 3 Barrie Crescent, Stockton with a guide of $1.4 million.
The beachfront property has Development Application approval to build a tri-level duplex and is open Saturday at 10.30am.

Auction action
Movable's Patrick Collins reported "fierce competition" before a five-bedroom house in Adamstown Heights was secured at auction by a local family for $1.152 million last Saturday.
Mr Collins marketed 125 Lexington Parade with a guide of $950,000.
A five-bedroom, four-bathroom residence at 139 Everton Street in Hamilton that was marketed by First National Newcastle City with a guide of $1.95 million to $2.15 million also sold under the hammer last weekend for $1.975 million.
This Saturday Belle Property have three properties set for auction. They are a property featuring two three-bedroom villas at 9 View Street in Belmont (10.30am) that has a guide of $1.15 million, a three-bedroom home at 84 Howe Street in Lambton (11.45am) with a guide of $825,000 and a four-bedroom house at 19 Alhambra Avenue in Macquarie Hills (2.15pm) with a guide of $700,000.
Listings over $1m
A guide of $1.075 million to $1.175 million has been set for a character-filled, circa 1932 residence with three bedrooms at 142 Russell Road, New Lambton that is being marketed by McGrath New Lambton.
First National Newcastle City reported multiple offers have been made during the first week on the market for a four-bedroom, three-bathroom house at 39 Berner Street in Merewether that has a guide of $2.1 million to $2.3 million.
A four-bedroom house with a guide of $1.8 million at 71 Wilton Street that has been listed by Robinson Property has also reportedly attracted strong early enquiry.
PRD have listed a two-bedroom cottage opposite Centennial Park at 59 Tooke Street, Cooks Hill with a guide of $1.25 million.
Listings $500,000 to $1m
Robinson Property expect strong interest from first home buyers in a three-bedroom house on a block 513 square metres in size at 114 Crebert Street, Mayfield that has a guide of $650,000 to $675,000.
Belle Property have not yet set a guide for a three-bedroom home on a leafy block at 119 Marshall Street, Kotara but the Herald understands expectations are mid-$700,000.
Richardson & Wrench Newcastle City are guiding $695,000 for a three-bedroom home at 66 Bishopsgate Street in Wickham.
Listings under $500,000
Walkom Real Estate have listed a one-bedroom studio apartment in the converted Colonial Mutual Life Building at 702/110 Hunter Street, Newcastle with a guide of $420,000.
Belle Property Hunter Valley are guiding $330,000 to $360,000 for a 704 square metre block of land at 5 Lambert Close, Bolwarra.
