The Eagles parted ways with head coach Doug Pederson on Monday and one former Birds’ Pro Bowl performer already knows who should get the call to lead the franchise.
Saints iron-man safety and two-time Super Bowl champ Malcolm Jenkins provided a strong endorsement for assistant head coach Duce Staley to get the call.

Eagles owner Jeff Lurie made it clear that he expected Staley to be a candidate for the vacant head coaching job.
“I would expect Duce Staley to be a candidate,” Lurie said. “He’s a great representative of the Eagles, knows our values. I would expect him to be a part of the search as well.”
Staley, 45, played for the Eagles from 1997-2003 and has been on the coaching staff since the 2011 season, working under Andy Reid, Chip Kelly, and Pederson.
A leader of men and an Eagle from day-1, Staley would be the type of candidate that would allow Howie Roseman to keep his stranglehold on the organization.
