Sainsbury's is changing its home delivery service for a number of stores

Sainsbury's is teaming up with Uber Eats for a new delivery service.

The partnership will launch this week, and will see Uber Eats deliver customer's shopping orders within an average time of 25 minutes.

Initially the new service will be tested out in the supermarket's Camden store - with plans for it be rolled out across nine other stores in the UK.

If the trial is successful, Sainsbury's may extend the Uber Eats service to even more of its branches.

Nigel Blunt, Sainsbury’s Director of eCommerce, said: We are doing everything we can to find new ways to serve even more of our customers with online grocery deliveries.

"Complementing our Chop Chop fast delivery service, which delivers groceries to customers within 60 minutes, working with Uber Eats will offer another way for customers to get Sainsbury’s groceries delivered to their door quickly, conveniently and safely”.

Toussaint Wattinne, Uber Eats General Manager, said: “I am delighted to be partnering with Sainsbury’s in the UK, which will enable customers to quickly and conveniently order over 1000 items including fruit and veg, store essentials, and even flowers.

"This partnership will offer even more choices for customers using the Uber Eats app.”

Shoppers will be able to order Taste the Difference ready meals, fresh fruit and vegetables, Free-From products and store cupboard essentials using the app.
