Sadhguru reveals the superfood women should eat daily, says the ancient millet is the ‘most female-friendly cereal’

Spiritual leader and wellness advocate Sadhguru has once again highlighted the power of simple, natural foods. Known for promoting seasonal fruits, vegetables, and traditional grains, Sadhguru recently urged people to make ragi (finger millet) a regular part of their diet, especially women.

In a viral Instagram reel, Sadhguru described ragi as the "most female-friendly cereal" and said it offers unique health benefits for women.

“Ladies of the world, I must tell you, ragi is the most female-friendly cereal you can consume. This millet is fantastic for women,” Sadhguru said in the video.

He explained that ragi contains one of the highest levels of calcium among cereals and is also rich in iron. According to him, these nutrients can help tackle two major health concerns among women — anemia and bone weakness.

“There is such a level of anemia all over the world, particularly for the female population. There is also a problem of porosity of bones being high at certain stages in a woman's life. Ragi can make a tremendous difference for both,” he added.

The issue is especially significant in India. According to government data, nearly 59.1% of adolescent girls and 67.1% of children suffer from anemia. Experts say iron deficiency remains the leading cause, though deficiencies of folate, vitamin B12, and vitamin A also contribute.
