Sabri Lamouchi says he has 'just one goal' at Nottingham Forest next season

New Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi says he has "just one goal" next season - promotion.

Lamouchi was named the new Reds head coach on a whrilwind Friday, which saw Martin O'Neill sacked and replaced by for the former France international, with just 18 minutes between the announcements.

Ex-Rennes manager Lamouchi watched Saturday's 2-1 friendly win at Alfreton and will take charge of the squad for the first time in Spain this week.

He recognises time is short before the start of the Championship season, but says getting into the Premier League is his only goal.

"I am so happy. It's a new challenge for me. Many things change," he told Sky Sports.

"I would like to start immediately. We have 35 days before the start of the season.

"It's a big club, a good atmosphere. I'm so proud.

"It's a big responsibility. I have just one goal, to play in the Premier League next year, of course."

Lamouchi is yet to be formally introduced to the media, when he will outline his plans more fully.
