SA Police release video footage of 'hoon' driver allegedly caught doing burnouts

SA Police has released video footage of a vehicle doing burnouts in front of a group of spectators overnight and arrested the alleged driver, charging him with a series of offences.

Patrols were called to Pellew Road at Penfield, about 30 kilometres north of Adelaide, at 12:30am, responding to reports of a large number of vehicles doing burnouts.

The police helicopter captured a vehicle doing a burnout and spinning its wheels as it sped off.

Police said patrols stopped the driver in a Holden sedan on nearby Angle Vale Crescent and arrested him.

The 21-year-old Broadview man was charged with a series of offences including driving without registration and insurance, driving disqualified and dangerous driving.

His car was also defected for having bald tyres and missing panels and impounded for 28 days.

The man bailed and is expected to face court next month.
