SA murder case breakthrough as wanted man Travis Kirchner arrested

Three people have been arrested in Victoria, including wanted man Travis Kirchner, over the alleged murder of mother-of-three Sally Rothe at Murray Bridge in South Australia last weekend.

Police said two men and a woman were arrested at a house at Doveton in Melbourne's south-east and would face a magistrate on Monday.

SA Police will seek the extradition of all three to face charges.

Police said Mr Kirchner, 43, was arrested without incident by Victorian officers acting on information they were given by the SA major crime investigation branch.

The body of the 54-year-old Ms Rothe was found in a Murray Bridge house last Sunday and police later issued a public alert as they sought Mr Kirchner for questioning about the death.

Officers said a 49-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman from Murray Bridge were to face charges alleging they assisted an offender to escape apprehension.

The victim's family has been notified of the arrests, police said, after extensive searches had been made of more than 110 properties since last weekend.
