S Club 7 enjoy mini reunion at the BRIT Awards 2023 ahead of band's big announcement

S Club 7 had a mini reunion at the BRITs, as members Jo O'Meara, Rachel Stevens and Tina Barrett looked stunning on the red carpet.

The trio's appearance at the awards bash this evening comes after the band teased a big announcement coming this Monday on The One Show.

It follows reports that the noughties pop group are set to reunite for a huge tour, 25 years after their debut single was released.

On the red carpet, Jo wore a floorlength black gown, while Tina wore a shimmering black number, with a cut-out at the shoulder.

Rachel wore an off the shoulder red gown with a ruche design on one side.

The trio smiled and looked comfortable as they posed together.

Jo's appearance at the BRITs comes after she had a back operation last year, spending eight days at Queen's hospital in Romford after surgeons removed part of a disc in her back.

She has previously spoken about her "rough and painful" recovery.

On Friday, the group took to Twitter, writing: "Ain’t no party like an S Club Party. Announcement coming 7pm this Monday 13th February on BBC ’s The One Show".

The group, also made up of Bradley McIntosh, Hannah Spearritt, Jon Lee and Paul Cattermole split up in 2003 but not before they secured a whopping four number-one singles and a hugely successful album.

Best known for their hits Bring It All Back, S Club Party, Reach and Never Had a Dream Come True, the seven-strong band have reportedly all agreed to a comeback, which has been organised but music mogul Simon Fuller.

Simon was responsible for putting them together in 1998 after the Spice Girls, his previous band, sacked him as their manager.

The Mail Online reports that he called each of the seven stars individually and made it clear that the reunion would only work if they all agreed to it.

This year, the BRIT Awards, hosted by Mo Gilligan again, takes place on a Saturday - the first time the star-studded music ceremony has ever been held over a weekend rather than its usual weeknight slot.

Buzz for this year’s show began last month, mainly thanks to the backlash surrounding the nominations for the Artist of the Year honour and the fact no women were put up for the award.

Fans were outraged to discover the category - won by Adele in 2022 - featured only male acts, with Harry, rapper Central Cee, DJ Fred again, pop singers George Ezra and and Stormzy.

Just 17.6% of artists originally shortlisted last year for Artist of the Year 2023 were women, and included Mabel, Florence and the Machine, Charli XCX, Becky Hill and Rina Sawayama - but none of the talented female stars made the final cut when the final nominations were announced on January 12.
