Ryder Cup 2025: What time is tee off in UK on Saturday? Day 2 foursomes pairings confirmed

Command lead: Dream day one for Europe - (Getty Images)

Europe take a strong lead into the second day of the Ryder Cup after a superb start at Bethpage Black on Friday.

Luke Donald's defending champions powered to a 3-1 win in the opening foursomes session before taking control of the afternoon four-balls matches, winning both sessions to build up a 5½-2½ lead.

Their clinical performance in the morning certainly quietened the home fans after much had been made of the hostile reception the New York crowd had in store for the visiting side.

The arrival of President Donald Trump looked to give the hosts a lift, but world no1 Scottie Scheffler and US Open champion JJ Spaun were roundly beaten by John Rahm and Sepp Straka. Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose held their nerve to see off an off-colour Bryan DeChambeau and Ben Griffin before Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry ground out a half point.
