Ryanair flight from Manchester Airport diverted after passenger falls ill

A Ryanair flight from Manchester Airport had to divert due to passenger illness.

The flight from Manchester to Murcia in Spain took off around 7.50am on Monday (May 22). However, it had to be diverted to London Stansted shortly after taking off.

A spokesperson for the airline said a passenger became ill onboard. They were met by medics for treatment at London Stansted, reports the M.E.N.

As a result, the flight was briefly delayed.

In a statement, a Ryanair spokesperson said: "This flight from Manchester to Murcia (22 May) diverted to London Stansted when a passenger became ill on board.

"The passenger disembarked and was met by medics for treatment before this flight continued to Murcia following a brief delay."
