Ryanair announces 20 new routes from Manchester and Liverpool for 2021

Ryanair is launching 20 new routes from both Manchester and Liverpool, as it unveils its 'recovery schedule' across the two airports for 2021.

The airline will be offering flights across both green and amber list destinations including Greece, Italy, Croatia, France and more. The move will bring its total of weekly flights to 110 from Liverpool, and 315 from Manchester.

The new Liverpool routes will include Kos, Rome, Košice, Kaunas, Zadar, Arlanda, Milan Bergamo, Paris Beauvais, Sibiu and Tallinn.

From Manchester, routes will be to Santorini, Knock, Bucharest, Verona, Paphos, Kaunas, Poznan, Suceava, Zagreb and Salzburg.

The airline said it was looking to help recover its UK traffic, "as vaccination rollouts continue across Europe in time for the peak holiday season".

To celebrate the move, the budget airline has also launched a flash sale with thousands of seats from £19.99 up for grabs, for travel through to October. You can already book the deals on ryanair.com although it's worth noting that you'll need to book by midnight on Friday (July 23) when the sale ends.

The company currently offers a zero amends fee policy on flights, allowing passengers to change their booking - you can find out more on the Ryanair website here.

Jason McGuinness, Ryanair's Director of Commercial, said in statements for both airports that the airline is looking to "deliver recovery and growth" to the two destinations, "despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic".

He added that "following the successful vaccination programmes, UK air traffic led by Ryanair, is set to recover strongly in Summer 2021".

Holidaymakers in England have a wider choice of holiday destinations now that the government has lifted its advice against travelling to amber list destinations.

However, it's worth noting that if you're not fully vaccinated against Covid-19, you'll still need to self-isolate for 10 days at home when you're back in the UK, as well as taking two PCR tests on days two and eight.

Those who are double jabbed will be able to swerve the quarantine, although you'll still be required to take the two PCR tests.

Of course just because the UK government says you can travel somewhere doesn't automatically mean it's open to Brits. Check a country's entry requirements as some haven't reopened to tourists yet. The Foreign Office's travel advice for a destination is a good starting point for this information.
