Ryan Taylor's brutal message for Lee Charnley after Newcastle United departure

Ryan Taylor has not held back with a brutal message for Lee Charnley after his Newcastle United departure.

The former Magpies managing director left the club following 22 years of service at St James' Park after completing a handover following the Saudi-led takeover from Mike Ashley.

Newcastle's new owners have announced they will appoint a new CEO in due course following Charnley's departure from the club.

Commenting on Gallowgate_Shots Instagram post sharing the news of Charnley's departure, Taylor said: "About time. Maybe it was over the phone too?"

The former Newcastle set-piece specialist was referring to his controversial departure from the club over the phone, with Jonas Gutierrez also told he would not be offered a new deal by the Magpies.

Speaking to the Guardian in 2015, Taylor said: “John Carver rang me and told me the club weren’t going to offer me a new deal. I had a chat with him and then he asked me to pass the phone to Jonas, which was unbelievable. I can’t really blame John because he’s under instructions on what to do.”
