Ryan Giggs dissects Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's goal vs David De Gea and Manchester United

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has lauded Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and ran out of superlatives to describe his equalising goal against United at Old Trafford.

Scott McTominay opened the scoring against the Gunners on Monday night but United were pegged back when Aubameyang beat David De Gea to score his seventh goal of the Premier League season.

The Gabon international was picked out by youngster Bukayo Saka and dinked the ball superbly over the head of the United shot stopper.

Giggs has heaped praise on the striker after his instinctive finish.

"It's a good pass from the young lad, Saka, right into his path and it's a fantastic finish with his left foot," he told Optus Sport.

"A little dink, that's a goalscorer's finish. He doesn't panic, he's calm and it's against David de Gea who is one of the best shot-stoppers in the world. It was a brilliant finish.

"I've seen David in that position. If it goes low then he's got his feet closed and he's got that reaction and big reach where he does save it. But it's not easy to save that."

There was confusion after the ball hit the back of the net after the linesman had raised his flag for offside.

However, VAR overruled the decision with Harry Maguire clearly playing the Arsenal man onside.

When asked about the decision Aubameyang said: "I was sure I was not offside.

"I was surprised that the referee whistled but I just finished as usual.

"I try to always score even if I hear the whistle of the referee - that's it."
