Ryan Cairns missing: 'growing concerns' for Dumfries man who may have travelled to Glasgow

An appeal has been launched to help trace a man reported missing from Newton Stewart.

Ryan Cairns was last seen at an address in York Road on Monday, 17 May, 2021.

He was spoken to the same day and reported missing to police on Wednesday, 19 May.

There are growing concerns for the 27-year-old’s welfare and officers are carrying out enquiries to trace him.

Police don't think that Ryan has access to a vehicle and may be travelling on foot or via public transport to the Glasgow area.

He is described as being 5ft 7ins tall, of a slim build with brown hair. It is not known what clothing he was wearing when he was last seen.

Sergeant David Kerr said: “We’re eager to trace Ryan as soon as possible and would ask anyone who has seen him, or knows of his current whereabouts, to contact officers.

“If Ryan see’s our appeal that I’d ask him to contact police, or someone he trusts, so that we can ensure he is safe.”

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 and quote incident number 3074 of 19 May 2021.
