Judy Murray OBE served up an ace invitation to members of Rutherglen lawn tennis club from her living room on Friday night.
The well-known mum of the sport’s top stars Andy and Jamie Murray, is a “big supporter” of the Rutherglen club and wanted to help the club in any way she could during these difficult times.
Judy reached out last week and invited members to take part in a Zoom Q&A session on Friday night.
Club president, Gareth Ellor told the Reformer : “Judy is a huge supporter of ours
“She officially opened the Burnside courts three years ago and is a key supporter of our plans for the club going forward.
“She got in touch with us to see how we were all doing in these circumstances, which was nice enough.
“But then for her to invite us to a virtual question and answer session was just really spectacular.
“Over 40 members signed up to take part. The youngest being just six-years-old.”
The Zoom session was recorded to allow members who were unable to take part to listen in later.
There were a variety of serious and lighthearted questions asked by club members.
And Judy even offered the members some
top tips on training and keeping fit both physically and mentally during the coronavirus outbreak lockdown.
Gareth added: “Everyone was really looking forward to it and the Zoom chat did not disappoint. It was really cool to have 40-odd faces on the screen with Judy Murray!
“Just like everyone, Judy has some extra time on her hands just now, so it was really nice of her to give the club some extra support.
“Everyone admires her greatly and we have a great relationship.
“She is a big supporter of ours and we totally appreciate what she does for the club.”
