Ruth Langsford's 'secret' Eamonn Holmes relationship, career and net worth

At the moment it seems that you can’t go a day without hearing about ITV’s This Morning. The intense media interest began when former host Phillip Schofield sensationally quit the show amid reports of a feud with co-star Holly Willoughby.

Phillip later revealed that he’d had a non-”illegal, but unwise” affair with a younger male production runner. ITV has now come under scrutiny over its handling of the situation and some people are calling for the programme to be pulled off air.

One former presenter has had her own, well publicised, battle with Phillip. A few years ago, Ruth Langsford was left furious when he interrupted her while she was doing a live link on This Morning to preview what was coming up on Loose Women.

Earlier this week Ruth’s husband Eamonn Holmes, who also used to work on This Morning, confirmed that she’d made an official complaint against Phillip over the incident - read more about Eamonn’s revelations on Phillip here. But when did Eamonn and Ruth first get together, what else has she worked on and what is her net worth?

Eamonn and Ruth’s marriage

Ruth and Eamonn were initially introduced to each other by their friend TV presenter Sally Meen in 1997. Around the same time, Ruth had moved to London to further pursue her career in a bid to get her big break on national television.

When the pair met, Eamonn was separated from his first wife, Gabrielle, but they were still married. Ruth and Eamonn decided to keep their relationship secret and didn’t publicly date for some time in respect of his wife, whom he shared three children with - sons Declan and Niall, and daughter Rebecca.

Speaking about Eamonn’s respect for his ex-wife, Ruth told The Daily Mail in 2017: “I thought it spoke volumes about the sort of man he was, the sort of father he was and the integrity he had. It made me love him more, not less.”

Ruth and Eamonn had a son together, Jack Alexander, in 2002 and finally married in 2010.

Between 2015 and 2019 she and Eamonn fronted Channel 5 show, Eamonn & Ruth: How the Other Half Lives where they spent time with some of Britain's richest people.

What is Ruth’s net worth?
