Ruth Langsford predicts Loose Women 'repercussions' over dig at Coleen Nolan

Ruth Langsford was left predicting there'd be some 'repercussions' after she made a dig at Loose Women co-star Coleen Nolan's expense during Monday's show.

As the ITV discussion kicked off its first episode of a new week, the topic of a reported £8million being spent on portraits of King Charles III to be given free of charge to public buildings across the country.

The topic provoked a particularly angry response from Ruth's Loose Women colleague Coleen, who fumed: "We've just been talking there about serious issues and lack of funds..our nurses and doctors who are desperately striking which they don't want to do; but hey, let's spend eight million on a portrait of Charles!"

After telling host Ruth not to 'stop her,' Coleen added: "It is historic and I'm so looking forward to it; I'm not anti-Royal, but that much money on a picture makes me want to vomit."

Drawing the conversation to a close after Coleen had her say, Ruth remarked: "Time will tell," as Coleen quipped: "I think my MBE has gone out the window!"

Seizing on the opportunity to get a playful but slightly dig in, Ruth fired back: "I'm not sure that was ever on the cards!"

As a collective 'ooooh' was heard in the studio, Coleen jokingly held a tissue up rto her eyes, promoting Ruth to add: "That'll be front of all the mags! Cutting comment," as Coleen replied: "I'm going to show you one day! I'm going to wear my medal."
