Ruth Langsford ‘furious' with Eamonn Holmes as he 'snubs' son Jack over Christmas amid divorce

Ruth Langsford is said to be running out of patience with her estranged husband, Eamonn Holmes, after he reportedly failed to reach out to their son Jack over Christmas.

The television presenters were together for 27 years and married for 14 before confirming their separation in June 2024.

Holmes, 66, later began a relationship with counsellor Katie Alexander, who is 22 years his junior, while the former couple have largely avoided speaking publicly about one another since the split.

According to Bella Magazine, Holmes made little effort to contact Jack, 23, over the festive period, something that has caused tension.

A source told the publication: “Ruth is furious that Eamonn made no attempt to reach out to his son Jack to offer an olive branch and try to build bridges over Christmas and New Year.

“She says the least Eamonn could have done was to reach out and wish him good tidings and keep the door open. She won't forgive him.”

The magazine also claims Holmes gave his older children; son Niall and daughter Rebecca, whom he shares with his former wife Gabrielle, “the cold shoulder” over Christmas.

The Standard has contacted Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford’s reps for comment.

It has previously been reported that Jack has aligned himself closely with his mother following the couple’s separation.

A source told The Daily Mail last July: “Things remain strained between him and his father.”

Langsford shares Jack with the GB News presenter, who has three adult children from his first marriage.

Speaking about his own Christmas plans in December, Holmes told the Sun: “I'm going to be with Katie this Christmas. I've never not been in the UK for Christmas, but maybe one year I'll go away abroad.”

Langsford, a regular panellist on Loose Women, has remained single since the split and has spoken openly about turning to therapy in its aftermath.

“I started counselling when Eamonn and I separated, and I'm still having it. It is very powerful and very useful. It gives me tools to deal with things,” she told Woman & Home.

“My counsellor has probably seen us on TV, but she doesn't know either of us so doesn't get involved and doesn't judge. She just listens and says, ‘Have you thought about this?’ or ‘Why did you feel like that?’”

Reflecting on the end of the relationship, Langsford added: “The end of a very long relationship takes a lot of unravelling. Counselling helps you move on from it, to not be held back.”
