Ruth Langsford has admitted that she had "a little cry" during a very "emotional" reunion with her mother Joan this week.
The TV presenter led the Loose Women panel on Tuesday and was keen to tell Janet Street Porter, Brenda Edwards and Frankie Bridge about the occasion.
Ruth, 60, confirmed she had two Covid tests before reuniting with her beloved mum and was only allowed to spend 60 minutes with her.
With a big grin on her face, she told the rest of the panel: "It was very emotional. We had a little cry, of course, but we didn’t want to waste that hour, we didn’t say it to one another, but we just had a little bit of a cry.

"We just did our thing, we had a cup of tea, we sat together, I held her hand, she talked to the dog Maggie," Ruth continued, as Loose Women shared and adorable snap of Joan and her pooch.
Addressing viewers at home, she continued: "It was a lovely moment. If that’s happening for you, I’m really happy for you, and if it's not yet, hopefully it's coming."

Asked by Brenda if she will get to see her mum on Mothering Sunday this weekend, Ruth confirmed she won't be seeing her mum on Mother's Day.
"They’re not actually doing Mothering Sunday because of the amount of people that want to go, obviously, and it’s very restricted in numbers," she explained.
"She’s had both her vaccines but they’re being extra careful. I was disappointed but I understand it, because everyone would want to visit on Mother’s Day.

"But I can see her once a week because I’m her nominated family member, but yeah it was really lovely."
Elsewhere on Tuesday's Loose Women, Ruth was seen transforming into an air hostess as the ITV show shared footage of when Ruth trained with British Airways before the pandemic.
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30 on ITV.
